An Introduction To Terry Reid

Terry Reid's highly melodic songwriting and scintillating vocals distinguish him from his peers. One enthusiastic scribe wrote, "His velvet and sandpaper sound is as irresistible as Rod Stewart, his delivery as nakedly emotional as Joe Cocker, and his musicianship is as fine as Steve Winwood's."
Small wonder that Aretha Franklin once asserted that "There are only three things happening in London: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Terry Reid."
Industry interest and opportunities appeared early on. Terry formed a trio that quickly gained notoriety, opening for the biggest acts of the day, including Cream and The Rolling Stones on their 48 city 1970 U.S. Tour.

Terry's recording career took off in 1968 with the release of "Bang Bang." A follow up was released later that year entitled "Terry Reid" and later albums include "River," "Seed of Memory (produced by his pal Graham Nash), Rogue Waves (produced by Capitol Records) and most recently Warner Brothers' "The Driver.
You can hear Terry's music in popular films and television shows including "Melrose Place," Disney's "Aspen Extreme" the feature film "Days of Thunder" (starring Tom Cruise) as well as on the soundtrack album and the recently released 'The Criminal ' . His demanding writing, recording and performing schedule keeps Reid busy.

He's worked with Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, The Replacements, Graham Nash, Elliot Easton (The Cars), Waddy Wachtel, Joe Walsh and Mick Taylor.
Terry's songs have been recorded by the likes of The Hollies, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Cheap Trick and REO Speedwagon to name a few.
His compositions are breathtaking lyrical and vocal fests.

In recent years Terry has performed at Womad in 2002 and Glastonbury in 2005.
